Superstar Rajinikanth’s next movie, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, is creating a lot of buzz among his fans and the film industry. The movie, which will be produced by Lyca Productions and directed by Jai Bhim fame TJ Gnanavel, is expected to release in 2024. The film will have music by Anirudh, who has previously worked with Rajinikanth in Petta and Darbar. The look test is done for Thalaivar Rajnikanth last day.
The latest update on the project is that Telugu actor Nani, who is known for his versatile roles and natural acting, is in talks to play an important role in the film. If this news is true, then it will be a treat for the fans to see Rajinikanth and Nani sharing screen space for the first time. Nani is currently busy with his upcoming films Shyam Singha Roy and Ante Sundaraniki.
Another exciting news is that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan will also be part of Thalaivar 170. According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan will play a cameo role in the film, which will be a tribute to his friendship with Rajinikanth. The two legends have acted together in several films like Hum, Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar and Sivaji. It will be interesting to see them reunite on the big screen after a long gap.
Thalaivar 170 is reported to be a cricket-based drama, which will showcase Rajinikanth’s love for the sport. The film will also feature Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth as the lead actors, while Rajinikanth will appear in a special role. Thalaivar 170 is Rajinikanth’s third film with Lyca Productions, after Kaala and Darbar. The production house announced the film on March 2, on the occasion of their chairman Subaskaran’s birthday.
Rajinikanth is also working on another film, titled Jailer, which is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film is an action entertainer, which also stars Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan. The film will also have cameo appearances by Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar. Jailer is slated to release in April 2023.
