Nadikar Thilakam, which means ‘star of stars’ in Malayalam, is an upcoming comedy entertainer starring Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir in the lead roles. The film is directed by Lal Jr, who has previously helmed films like Driving Licence and Honey Bee. The film is said to be the biggest film in Tovino’s career in terms of money spent, as it has a lavish budget and a grand scale of production.
The film revolves around the life of David Padikkal, a superstar played by Tovino, who faces various challenges and obstacles in his professional and personal life. Soubin Shahir plays his friend and confidant Bala, who helps him overcome his troubles. The film also features a stellar ensemble cast of Veena Nandakumar, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Anoop Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Lal and Madhupal in important roles.
The film’s shooting began on July 11, 2023 and is nearing completion. The film has been shot in four different locations – Kochi, Hyderabad, Dubai and Kashmir – to capture the glamour and glitz of the film industry. The film’s production is scheduled to span over 120 days, making it one of the longest shoots in Malayalam cinema. The film’s music and original score are composed by Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair, who have previously collaborated with Lal Jr in Driving Licence.
