The much-awaited sequel to the 2019 blockbuster ‘Lucifer’, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally gone on floors. The film, titled ‘L2E – Empuraan’, will explore the journey of Stephen Nedumpally and how he became Khureshi Ab’Ram, the leader of an international crime organization.
The first schedule of the film is happening in Ladakh, where some high-octane action sequences are being shot. Mohanlal, who plays the lead role of Khureshi Ab’Ram, is mostly part of this schedule and is expected to wrap up his portions by tomorrow. The actor had shared a picture of himself in a rugged look from the location on his social media account. According to latest reports, the film wrapped its portion in Ladakh and soon start the next schedule.
The film was officially launched on September 30, with a promotional video that announced the collaboration of Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions as the producers. Lyca Productions, known for producing big-budget films like ‘PS-1’ and ‘PS-2’, is co-producing a Malayalam film for the first time. The film will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages.
‘L2E – Empuraan’ is written by Murali Gopy, who also penned the script for ‘Lucifer’. The film has Nirmal Sahadev as the creative director and Sujith Vaassudev as the cinematographer. The film also features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Zayed Masood, Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas, Indrajith Sukumaran as Govardhan, Sachin Khedekar as P.K. Ramdas and many others in pivotal roles.
The film is expected to be a grand spectacle that will take the audience into the world of Khureshi Ab’Ram and his empire. The makers have not revealed the release date of the film yet, but fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on this ambitious project.
