Trisha Krishnan to star opposite Rajinikanth in Thalaivar 171, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj

Trisha Krishnan, the reigning queen of South Indian cinema, is all set to star opposite superstar Rajinikanth in his next film, tentatively titled Thalaivar 171. The film will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is currently awaiting the release of his much-awaited film Leo with Vijay in the lead role. This will be Trisha’s second collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj, after Leo, where she plays the female lead.

Trisha, who made her debut in 1999 with an uncredited role in Jodi, has been ruling the hearts of millions of fans for over two decades. She has worked in various languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, and has won several awards and accolades for her performances. She is known for her versatility and charm, and has essayed a wide range of roles in films.

At 40, Trisha is still going strong and dominating the Kollywood industry by pairing opposite to some of the biggest stars of South India. She has already worked with Vijay in four films, namely Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aadhi and Leo. She has also shared screen space with Kamal Haasan in Manmadhan Ambu and Thoongaa Vanam. She will be seen with Ajith Kumar in Valimai, which is expected to release soon. And now, she has bagged the coveted role of Rajinikanth’s heroine in Thalaivar 171.

Thalaivar 171 was officially announced by Sun Pictures on September 11, 2023. The film will have music by Anirudh Ravichander and stunts by Anbariv. The shooting of the film is expected to commence in February 2024. The plot of the film is still under wraps, but it is speculated that it will be an action-packed entertainer with Rajinikanth’s trademark style and charisma.
