Suriya Sivakumar, the National Award-winning actor, is busy shooting for his upcoming film Kanguva, directed by Siva. The film, which is touted to be a period action drama, features Suriya in five different roles. Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil debut with this film, plays the female lead.
According to sources, the shooting of Kanguva is currently happening at EVP Film City in Chennai, where a huge set has been erected to match some portions of Kodaikanal. The team had planned to shoot in Kodaikanal earlier, but due to the pandemic situation and the lockdown restrictions, they had to change their plans. The EVP schedule is expected to last for a week, after which the team will move to Rajahmundry and Hyderabad for the next schedule.
Kanguva, which is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green in association with UV Creations, is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema, with a budget of around ₹300–350 crore. The film will release in 10 languages across India and worldwide in early 2024. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while Vetri Palanisamy and Nishadh Yusuf handle the cinematography and editing respectively.
