Mammootty, the megastar of Malayalam cinema, is all set to team up with director Vysakh for a big-budget commercial entertainer. The yet-to-be-titled project, which is scripted by Midhun Manuel Thomas, has started its pre-production works recently. The makers are planning to start the shooting of the Mammootty-Vysakh movie by the end of this year.
Vysakh, who made his directorial debut with the Mammootty starrer Pokkiri Raja in 2010, is one of the most sought-after filmmakers of Malayalam cinema. He is best known for his blockbuster movies such as Pulimurugan, Madhura Raja, and so on. The director had announced his second collaboration with Mammootty, titled Raja 2, in 2017. However, the project was later shelved due to some unknown reasons.
Now, Vysakh is back with a new script for Mammootty, which is penned by Midhun Manuel Thomas. Midhun is a popular director and writer, who has delivered some of the most-loved films of recent times, such as Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, Aadu series, Anjaam Pathiraa, and so on. The Mammootty-Vysakh movie will mark his first collaboration with both the megastar and the director.
According to the sources close to the project, the Mammootty-Vysakh movie will be a complete mass entertainer that caters to all sections of the audiences. The film will feature Mammootty in a stylish avatar and will have some high-octane action sequences. The makers are yet to finalise the rest of the star cast and technical crew of the project.
