The post-production works of Mammootty’s upcoming action thriller KannurSquad are in full swing, as the makers are eyeing a Pooja holidays release in 2023. The movie, directed by debutant Praveen Prabhakar, is said to be a high-octane entertainer set in the backdrop of Kannur.
The movie features Mammootty as a retired police officer who leads a team of young cops to take down a notorious gangster. The movie also stars Anu Sithara, Soubin Shahir, Joju George, Indrajith Sukumaran and Lena in pivotal roles.
According to the sources, the movie has only one song, composed by Sushin Shyam, who is also working on the background score. The song is said to be a peppy number that will showcase the camaraderie of the squad. The movie has been shot extensively in Kannur and Kochi, with some portions in Dubai.
The movie is produced by Anto Joseph under his banner Anto Joseph Film Company. The movie has cinematography by Shyju Khalid, editing by Vivek Harshan and action choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan. The movie is expected to hit the screens on October 18, 2023, as a Pooja treat for the fans of Mammootty.
