The much-awaited film Kanguva, starring Suriya in five roles, has resumed its shooting in Rajamundry today. The film, directed by Siva and produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, is a mighty valiant saga that promises to be a visual spectacle for the fans. The film also features Disha Patani, Bobby Deol, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinash in pivotal roles.
According to sources, the team has planned a three-week schedule in Rajamundry, where they will shoot some action sequences and important portions of the film. The film is said to be set in different time periods and will showcase Suriya in various avatars. The film’s title teaser, which was released on April 16, 2023, has already created a huge buzz among the audience with its stunning visuals and intriguing music by Vetri Palanisamy.
The film also marks the Tamil debut of Bollywood actors Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, who are playing the female lead and the main antagonist respectively. The film also has a stellar technical crew, including cinematographer Nishadh Yusuf and editor Nishadh Yusuf. The film is being made on a lavish budget of around ₹300 crore and is expected to be released in early 2024 in 10 languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese.
The latest addition to the cast of Kanguva is veteran actor Jagapathi Babu, who has joined the team in Rajamundry. He will be playing an important role in the film, which is yet to be revealed. Jagapathi Babu is known for his versatile performances in films like Rangasthalam (2018), Maharshi (2019), Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019) and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020). He has also worked with Suriya before in Singam 3 (2017), where he played the role of Reddy.
