Toho has released a new poster for its upcoming kaiju film ‘GODZILLA MINUS ONE’, which will hit theaters in the U.S. on December 1, 2023. The poster features a striking image of Godzilla’s silhouette looming over a devastated postwar Japan, with the tagline “The terror begins…”.
‘GODZILLA MINUS ONE’ is written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who is known for his work on ‘The Great War of Archimedes’ and ‘Always: Sunset on Third Street 2’. The film is the 37th installment in the Godzilla franchise, Toho’s 33rd Godzilla film, and the fifth film in the franchise’s Reiwa era1
The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, and Kuranosuke Sasaki. The plot follows the emergence of Godzilla in postwar Japan, which has been reduced to zero economically. The people must face the new threat while struggling to survive and rebuild their nation2
The film will premiere at the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival on November 1, 2023, serving as the closing film.
