Chiranjeevi to star in the remake of Mammootty’s Bheeshma Parvam

After the success of Lucifer and Bro Daddy, Chiranjeevi is all set to star in another Malayalam remake. The megastar will reprise the role of Mammootty in the action thriller Bheeshma Parvam, directed by Harish Shankar12

Bheeshma Parvam, which released on 3 March 2022, received critical acclaim and became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time. The film revolves around Michael, a powerful patriarch of a wealthy family in Kochi, who faces challenges from his rebellious relatives and enemies. The film also features Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Shine Tom Chacko, Farhaan Faasil, Nadhiya Moidu, Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Joseph, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Harish Uthaman, Lena, Shebin Benson, Anagha, Nedumudi Venu, K. P. A. C. Lalitha and Sudev Nair in pivotal roles34

The Telugu remake will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who have previously bankrolled films like Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, Rangasthalam and Uppena5 The production house announced the project on their official Twitter handle with a poster featuring Chiranjeevi and Amal Neerad6

The director of the Telugu version will be Harish Shankar, who is known for his films like Gabbar Singh, Subramanyam For Sale and Duvvada Jagannadham. Harish Shankar expressed his excitement to work with Chiranjeevi and Amal Neerad in a statement. He said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this project which is a landmark film in Malayalam cinema. I have always admired Amal Neerad’s style of filmmaking and I am honoured to collaborate with him. And what can I say about Chiranjeevi sir? He is a legend and an inspiration for many filmmakers like me. I can’t wait to start working with him and present him in a never-seen-before avatar.” 7

The cast and crew of the Telugu remake are yet to be finalized. The makers are planning to start the shooting soon and release the film by the end of this year. The film is expected to be a treat for the fans of Chiranjeevi and Harish Shankar.8
