The much-awaited Malayalam political action thriller Chaaver, starring Kunchacko Boban, Antony Varghese and Arjun Ashokan, has been postponed due to some pending works in the post-production stage. The film, directed by Tinu Pappachan and written by Joy Mathew, was initially scheduled to release on September 28, 2023. However, the makers have decided to push the release date to a later date, citing the quality of the film as their priority.
The postponement of Chaaver informed to the theatres that had booked the film for screening that they will not release the film on September 28, 2023.
The UAE bookings for Chaaver, which were opened earlier this week, will be refunded to the people who had booked their tickets online.
As of now, there is no official date for the release of Chaaver, but reportedly it will hit the screens on October 5, 2023. This is considered to be a good date as there are no big releases in Malayalam cinema around that time. However, if the film gets postponed again, it might face stiff competition from other big releases like Leo and Dhruva Natchathiram, which are lined up for the second half of October.
Chaaver is a political thriller that revolves around a group of young men who get involved in a violent clash between rival political parties. The film promises to be a high-energy, tension-filled actioner that doesn’t shy away from portraying violence.
