Rocking Star Yash, who is currently an household name with the massive success of his much-awaited film KGF: Chapter 2, has reportedly signed his next project with Malayalam filmmaker Geethu Mohandas. The film, which is tentatively titled #Yash19, is said to be a crime thriller set in Goa, revolving around the drug mafia that operated in the 1960s. Shooting will start at December 23.
According to sources, Yash was impressed by the unique storyline and the director’s vision, and agreed to be a part of the film. Geethu Mohandas, who is known for her critically acclaimed films like Liar’s Dice and Moothon, has already completed the script and is planning to start the pre-production soon. According to rumours, The film will be produced by Hombale Films, the same banner that backed the KGF franchise.
The film will also explore the political nexus and the involvement of the Russian mafia in the drug trade in Goa, which was a hippie paradise in the 1960s. The film will have a retro feel and will showcase the culture and lifestyle of Goa during that era. The film will also feature some high-octane action sequences and a gripping plot.
Reportedly, the film will also have a stellar technical crew, including cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, who is Geethu Mohandas’ husband and a renowned director himself.
The film will also mark Geethu Mohandas’ debut in Kannada cinema and her first commercial venture. The film is expected to be a big treat for Yash’s fans and cinema lovers alike.
