The box office collections for the day were estimated to be around Rs. 48 crore across films in various languages, with tickets priced at Rs. 75.

Some of the movies that benefited from the National Cinema Day last year were Chup: Revenge of the Artist, a mystery thriller that collected in the range of Rs. 2.75-3 crore on its first day, and Brahmastra: Part One- Shiva, a superhero flick starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt that earned Rs. 8.50 crore, making for the second highest third Friday of all time for a film in the Hindi language.
